Nagavalli Venkatesh: Venkatesh donned two roles and three different get-ups
Nagavalli Venkatesh donned two roles and three different get-ups
A rich man (Sarath Babu) in a village has five daughters . His elder daughter Gayatri (Kamlinee Mukherjee) – a danseuse wins a priced possession of portrait that is 100 year old. It is a portrait of Chandramukhi who is supposed to have worked as a dancer in a king durbar. The elder one dies in an accident, the prospective grooms who were supposed to marry the younger daughters keep rejecting them. Horrified by the bad omens, the rich man invites an psychic to find out what went wrong. The psychic suggest a psychiatrist Vijay (Venkatesh). Venkatesh stays in rich man’s house to study the case. He also realises that things are going bad after Gayatri got Chandramukhi portrait to rich man’s house. The rest of the story is all about how Dr. Vijay solves .

Nagavalli Venkatesh: Venkatesh donned two roles and three different get-ups in this movie. You can see Venkatesh trying Rajnikant’s body language in a few scenes. He is good as a decent looking psychiatrist, he is nice as a king with negative streaks and he isn’t right for the surprise character that comes towards the end of the movie. The make-up and styling for that character is far away from our nativity. It is more like an aged Japanese warrior we see in films (Uma Thurman’s martial arts guru in Kill Bill or the aged king in Akira Kurosawa’s Ran). However, Venkatesh should be appreciated for doing this film in which he didn’t have a duet though there are many leading ladies.
Other characters:
Kamanilee Mukherjee is exceptionally good. Richa Gangopadhyay plays a vital role and she does justice. Shraddha Das plays a full length character and she is very good and different from what we have seen in her earlier movies. Poonam Kuar and Sujitha plays small characters. Brahmanandam is ineffective as the characterization done for him is stale. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam’s character pales in comparison with Vadivelu character in Chandramukhi. Avinash is very good as psychic. Sarath Babu, Prabha, Sana and Raksha are adequate.

Akkineni Nagarjuna stole the limelight when he entered the sets of the film Ragada, with such a mass title, having crossed 50. Coming as the swansong of the year 2010, the film evoked mixed response among the audiences on the lines of his previous films Don and King. Let us see, what the film has to spare for Nag and is it really worth the bucks for the audiences out on the New Year hungama.
Satya (Nagarjuna), whose whereabouts are maintained a secret, happens to win the confidence of a goon GK (Dev Gill), whose love interest is Sirisha (Sirisha). Coming as an expected twist, Sirisha falls in love with Satya, who in turn encounters another ravishing girl Ashata Lakshmi (Priyamani), after rescuing her from baddies. Like a Telugu movie of the 70s, the hero is caught between two girls. Naturally, the confidence of GK in Satya is shaken, followed by sudden spurt of troubles for the hero from the enemies of Ashta Lakshmi. How Satya cuts through the deal? It forms the rest of the story.
Despite in his 50s, Nagarjuna rocked in several scenes, particularly the romantic ones, apart from giving a wholesome entertainment in stunts and comedy. Anushka came out with a feast to the eyes of her fans, though she doesn’t really have any prominent role to play from the point of view of characterization.
Priyamani could give a tough fight to her colleague Anushka in terms of glamour and beauty. Brahmanandam as usual makes his presence felt and contributes to the comedy department in a significant manner, but due to lack of punch in the second half, his characterization slowly loses its importance.
Charmme’s presence comes as a soother with sensuous appeal. Dharmavarapu and Master Barath have done their part well, ticking the aesthetic sense of the crowds.
The script lacked originality and one would surely feel that though Nag did dynamic acting, this kind of a thing was an oddity to him. Screenplay is clumsy in parts. The first half runs at a brisk pace, with a sudden drop in the second half. Songs are entertaining, coupled with a mass appeal, but at the same time they come as speed breakers.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie has been titled ‘Adhinayakudu’

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie has been titled ‘Adhinayakudu’. Leo Entertainments Madhu, who had given super hit movies like Tagore, Stalin, has recently registered the title in the film chamber for chiranjeevi. It is well known that the producer has close alliance with Allu Aravind and goes without saying that the Allu will be financing this movie.
It seems that the pre-production works have been completed and the shooting will begin shortly. The film is likely to be released by next year. The new film is likely to be directed by VV Vinayak, AR murugadoss or SS Rajamouli.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi has left to the U.S. for a complete makeover. He has gained a few pounds in the last couple of months, so he wants to get slip shape in the U.S. weight reduction clinics.
