Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu (2010) Hindi movie story
Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu is about a girl called Laali who sells flowers on the streets of Mumbai. One particularly bad day a car stops by revealing Shah Rukh Khan in it. The star casually says she is beautiful and leaves but that statement makes her day better... and her life suddenly very interesting. A jealous lover stabs Laali with a knife as she goes about dreaming about Shah Rukh. And that does not stop her from daydreaming. She believes that every time she thinks of the star her problems are resolved - even the pain of the cut subsides! In the meantime the jealous lover goes into depression. There is also a reporter trying to follow the story of the girl who claims that SRK called her beautiful!
The story though is about a diehard fan, it is actually about how we believe that things happen to us because of certain powers we believe in. In the case of this story, it's the girl Laali who believes SRK solves all her problems.
While all these characters are quite interesting and well carved, they are also the prime problem with the film. With so many characters around the story takes a backseat. While the characters keep you entertained, at interval you will wonder where is the story headed. And you keep wondering so till the very end! The last few minutes in fact leaves too many questions in the mind about the story. Also there is a desperate attempt to bring out the hidden meaning at the end through a voiceover and that fails the purpose too.
Performances are the highpoint of the film. All actors are new and their hard work does not go unnoticed. Music by debutante Vasudha Sharma is good.
